Study the new stand alone module in Art & Archaeology

The Art and Archaeology:Contemporary Theory & Practice module is now available to study as a stand alone module.

This is a new and innovative course is designed and led by the Archaeology Institute and the Department of Art and Design at Orkney College UHI. It is a 20 credit SCQF Level 11 module which will appeal to those who have studied archaeology, art history, fine art or related subjects at undergraduate level.

  • Individuals may enrol as a ‘stand alone’ module, or for CPD – it will be of interest to anyone based in Museums & Galleries, Community Archaeology, Creative Industries.
  • It can be taken as an optional elective module for students studying the Fine Art MA, the Archaeological Studies MLitt or the Archaeological Practice MSc programmes as well as other related programmes such as History and Cultural Studies.

 

The module will run during Semester 2 - with a schedule of weekly lectures, practical sessions, workshops and seminars. These will run on Fridays with additional seminars and informal meetings taking place over a 12 week period.  The module is fully networked and will be delivered by VC and online learning. There is a practical studio element which students can also follow remotely.
