Guest information

Graduation isn’t just a special day for our students — it’s a proud and memorable moment for family and friends too. Guests are warmly welcome to share the celebration with you, from the build-up before the Ceremony right through to the Reception afterwards.

There are no age restrictions for guests, and families are very welcome. Please keep in mind, however, that Graduation is a formal occasion and the Ceremony can last around two hours or more. If younger children become restless, staff may ask that they are taken outside for a short break. We appreciate your co-operation in helping the Ceremony run smoothly for everyone.

For full details about what to expect, please see our What Happens on the Day section.

Tickets

All guests — including children — must have a seperate ticket to attend the Ceremony and Reception. Each graduand is entitled to two guest tickets, with the possibility of extra tickets becoming available closer to the date. Tickets must be booked by the graduand at the same time as their own — see our Ticket Booking section for full details.

Seating

Guest seating is located in the front half of the Cathedral and will be clearly marked. Seating is first come, first served, so we encourage guests to arrive and take their places promptly to get settled before the Ceremony begins. To help us make the best possible use of space, we kindly ask guests to sit closely together and avoid leaving gaps between seats. As numbers are restricted, filling every seat ensures that as many friends and family as possible can get a good view of the celebration.

Special arrangements

We want every guest to feel welcome and able to enjoy the celebration. If anyone in your party has specific requirements, please see our Additional Support information to find out how we can help.
