Graduation is a milestone you’ll want to remember and share, and there are plenty of opportunities to capture the moment.
Professional photography
A professional photographer from Orkney Photographic will be available at UHI Orkney’s main campus on East Road, Kirkwall, on the morning of your Graduation. You can have individual portraits as well as photos with your guests. There’s no need to book—just drop by anytime between 09:00-10:45am. Please note, there may be a wait to have your photo taken if there’s a queue, so we recommend arriving earlier rather than later. Please ensure you allow enough time to make your way to St Magnus Cathedral before the cut-off arrival time given in your invite. (12:45pm)
Ceremony photography
Orkney Photographic will also be present in the Cathedral to capture key moments, including the presentation of awards. All professional images will be available to purchase directly from Orkney Photographic’s website after the event.

Marketing and publicity photos
UHI Orkney’s Marketing staff will be taking photos and videos throughout the day to record and celebrate the event. These images may be shared on UHI Orkney’s publicity channels and social media. Your own photos
Family, friends, and fellow graduates are welcome to take photos before and after the ceremony. St Magnus Cathedral and the surrounding area provide a stunning backdrop for both group shots and candid moments. Please keep photography during the ceremony itself as discreet as possible, to avoid distraction.
