Privacy Notice – Student Accommodation Provider Contacts
Who we are
UHI Orkney collects and processes personal information relating to student accommodation providers to support students in finding suitable accommodation and to maintain relationships with accommodation providers.
What information we collect
We may collect and store:
- Name or business name
- Business contact details (address, telephone number, email address)
- Details of accommodation offered
Why we process your information
We process this information to:
- Maintain a directory of accommodation providers
- Provide accommodation information to students
- Communicate with providers regarding accommodation-related matters
- Monitor and improve our accommodation support services
Our lawful basis
We process your personal data under Article 6(1)(e) of the UK GDPR, where processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest as part of the University's educational and student support functions. Where appropriate, we may also rely on Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interests).
Who we share your information with
Your contact details may be shared with students seeking accommodation and with relevant staff. We will not share your information with other third parties unless required by law.
How long we keep your information
We will retain your information only for as long as it remains accurate, relevant and necessary for the purposes described above, in accordance with the University's records retention schedule.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have rights, including the right to access your personal data, request correction of inaccurate information, and have your details removed upon request.
