Graduation is a special day where students who have successfully completed a further or higher education course are invited to celebrate their achievements in the presence of friends and family. It’s also a special day for staff, who are incredibly proud of their hard working students.

Over 250 graduates were invited to attend the 2022 Graduation ceremony which took place in St Magnus Cathedral, although not all students graduating attended the ceremony due to continuing their studies or being unable to attend for other reasons.

Guest Speaker, Convenor for Orkney Islands Council, Councillor Graham Bevan, presented the Further Education SQA and other Validating Bodies Awards. The presentation of UHI  Postgraduate Awards was conferred by Professor Gary Campbell, Vice Principal of UHI. Special awards and the prestigious Orkney College UHI Student of the Year 2022 prize were also awarded.

The ceremony was followed by a celebratory reception at King Street Halls where students and their guests were invited to continue the celebrations.
